According to WTSP, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation said in a statement that William “Roddie” Bryan Jr. is jailed on felony murder and criminal attempt to commit false imprisonment charges. The decision comes weeks after Bryan came forward to tell his side about filming Arbery’s death and claiming he submitted the footage to police back in February.

Currently, he is being held at the Glynn County Jail. Officials did not release any further details surrounding his arrest.

Weeks prior to his arrest, Bryan’s attorney said in a statement that his client endured death threats after releasing his footage to police and lost his job as a result. However, the GBI made Bryan undergo a lie detector test to see if his claims were true but the results would not affect the investigation.

“Without Mr. Bryan, there would be no video. Without that video, there would be no case.”
