Man Who Broke Into Eminem’s Home Told Rapper He Was There To Kill Him
Back in April, we reported that an intruder broke into Eminem’s home, in Clinton Township, Detroit, Michigan, with a brick paver while his security team was sleeping. Now, a courtroom reporter revealed on Wednesday that the suspect was there to kill the rapper.
During trial, Officer Adam Hackstock and Detective Dan Quinn, both of the Clinton Township Police Department testified that 26-year-old Matthew Hughes was the man seen walking around the home and breaking and entering in the early hours of April 5. They add that Eminem, real name Marshall Mathers, was at home and woke to Hughes standing over him — but he thought it was his nephew.

Hackstock says, “When Mr. Mathers asked him why he was there, he was told by Mr. Hughes that he was there to kill him.” Hughes has since been charged with first-degree home invasion, a 20-year felony, and malicious destruction of a building — $1,000 or more, a five-year felony. Bond for Hughes remains at $50,000 cash.
