Hureleyon McLean, 72, was preparing for Thanksgiving at home with his wife, Rose, in Lauderdale Lakes when a confrontation began. Rose said that Hureleyon went downstairs to speak with their neighbor about a complaint regarding loud music. Moments later, a gunshot rang out. “I heard the gunshot, ‘boom,’ and I just flew to the door; I saw my husband lying face down in the blood,” she said to WSVN.

According to TOO FAB, the neighbor’s identity in the incident has not been released. The individual has claimed that the shooting was an act of self-defense and has since been arrested. The Broward County Sheriff’s Office stated that the alleged shooter cooperated with deputies during the investigation. The case is ongoing and has been referred to the Broward County State Attorney’s Office to decide whether any charges will be filed.

Rose added that the alleged shooter lacked remorse after her husband died and challenged the self-defense statement since her husband didn’t have any weapons.

“He just stood there with the gun in his hand, looking at me. When I asked why he shot my husband, he told me if I didn’t shut my mouth, he would shoot me, too.”

The McLean family is seeking justice for Hureleyon, who was a beloved father to two sons and a devoted grandfather. As a private bus driver, McLean was cherished by his family and friends for his kind spirit and dedication to his loved ones.
