Earlier this week, Shane Goldsby,26, was sentenced for the June 2020 murder of 70-year-old Robert Munger. According to the New York Post, Munger was serving a 43-year sentence for his heinous sex crimes against children. Before his death, Munger reported explained the details of the rape to Goldsby and said he recorded himself performing the crimes. Additionally, Goldsby said he requested a new inmate through the Washington Department of Corrections but their policy prohibits certain living arrangements.
“I had so much stuff going on in my head. I wasn’t stable at that point. I wasn’t. I was getting to that point, because (Munger) kept wanting to give me details about what happened, what he did – about the photos and the videos of him doing this stuff. It was building up.”
Goldsby struck Munger from behind at the prison’s bathroom area and hit him in the face 14 times then stomped on his head four times.

During the court hearing, Goldsby apologized to Munger’s family in a statement.
“I cannot imagine what it would be like to lose a loved one in this kind of way. To his wife and his whole family, I apologize. I am so sorry and I hope you are able to heal from what I caused.”
