Authorities say Lawrence Paul Anderson this month brutally killed neighbor Andrea Lynn Blankenship, 41, in Chickasha. He’s accused of cutting out her heart and then cooked it to serve to his relatives. Authorities say Anderson brought the heart to his aunt and uncle’s house, cooked it with potatoes “to release demons.” However, while trying to serve it to them he ended up killing his uncle Leon Pye, 67, wounding the aunt and killing Kaeos Yates, the pair’s 4-year-old granddaughter.

The motive for the killings are still not clear. However, the Oklahoman reports a vial of PCP was found on Anderson when he was arrested. It’s also not clear yet if he was on drugs when the murders occurred. On Tuesday, Anderson sobbed in court saying he didn’t want bail after admitting to the crimes. “I don’t want no bail, your honor. I don’t want no bail,” he said.

Anderson had been sentenced in 2017 to 20 years in prison for probation violations on a drug case, the newspaper reported. However, Republican Gov. Kevin Stitt commuted the sentence last year to nine years in prison, but was released after serving a little more than three years.

His lawyer indicated that he will seek a mental evaluation to determine whether Anderson is competent to stand trial.
