The unidentified man has become the hot topic in South Korea after fans of the show have consistently called him per day when his phone number appeared on a business card in one of the episodes. He was also offered 100 million won ($85,000) by presidential candidate Huh Kyung-young in exchange for the infamous phone number. “I heard that the owner of the phone number showed on a business card in Squid Game is suffering serious damage from prank calls. I would like to buy the number for 100 million won,” Young wrote in a Facebook post.
It was initially discovered by fans who decided to text the phone number to see if it was actually real and turned out that it was not made up for the show. Unfortunately for the owner, he says he cannot resume normal life due to the massive phone calls that he receives everyday and people have asked him over the phone if they can join the game.

He added that he cannot change the phone number since it is connected to his business and he’s had it for the past decade. His wife is even dealing with multiple phone calls since she has the same phone number except for the last digit.
Netflix and the production company of ‘Squid Games’ is currently planning to resolve the issue with the phone owner as reported by South China Morning Post.
