The man appeared at the victim’s Surbiton home on Dec. 30 and claimed he worked for the NHS. After the woman let him in, he gave her the vaccine and charged her $218, and claimed she would be refunded by the company. On Monday, the man showed up at her home again and asked her for another $136.
A statement was released by Detective Inspector Kevin Ives who called the situation a “totally unacceptable assault on a member of the public.” He further adds, “We are appealing to anyone who may have information that could assist us in identifying this man to get in touch. It is crucial we catch him as soon as possible as not only is he defrauding individuals of money, he may endanger people’s lives.”
