The incident was captured via security footage on July 12 when Vincent Bruce Scavetta,28, pulled out his gun and pointed it towards a Walmart shopper in Royal Palm Beach. An arrest report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office stated Scavetta was pushing his father in a wheelchair when he was approached by Christopher Estrada who was shopping with his daughter. Estrada asked the father-son duo to put on their masks due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two men began to argue with each other until Scavetta pulled out his gun and pointed it towards Estrada’s head, threatening to shoot him and said “I’ll kill you.” The young man and his father left the store shortly after.

Scavetta explained to the deputies that he took his mask off after entering the store due to a storm and accused Estrada of hitting him with an umbrella. He also turned in his handgun and revealed a valid concealed-carry permit. Estrada explained to investigators that he raised his umbrella toward Scavetta but was unsure if it hit him.

Deputies arrested Scavetta on Wednesday and he was released from the Palm Beach County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
