According to FOX 19, Martez Rhandell Morris, 28, appeared in court earlier this week where he pleaded guilty to several charges which included practicing nursing without a license, medical fraud, and identity theft. Morris also pleaded guilty to endangering children and Ohio Attorney General David Yost said during A press conference that his Health Care Fraud team discovered Morris stole the identity of a nurse and falsified documents to get a position as a licensed practical nurse.
During his time as a nurse, Morris administered medication and gave breathing treatments along with cleaning a feeding tube for a 20-month-old child. His patients also included several other children and a disabled adult.

“It’s a special kind of abuse to play pretend nurse to a kid who needs serious care. The abuse of trust is even worse than the fraud — and I hope the judge takes that into account at sentencing.”
Initially, Morris denied the allegations but confessed to committing fraud as a nurse and stealing the real nurse’s identity. He was arrested in 2019 and spent eight months in jail before posting a $200,000 bond. A date for his sentencing has been set for December 17.
