A former college student from Oklahoma has been sentenced to more than four years in federal prison for paralyzing another student for life after he “ruined” his chance to participate in a threesome.

In November 2017, 23-year-old Jace Christian Williams and the victim attended a vocational school in Afron. They reportedly expressed anger towards the victim because he ‘interfered and ruined Williams’ chances’ of sleeping with two women. Authorities said, “Williams went as far as to tell one student that he would make sure the victim ‘couldn’t use his arms or legs for five months.'”
The men both showed up to watch an unrelated fight between two other men, and witnesses said Williams attacked the victim from behind. According to Yahoo! News, he “wrapped his arms around the victim’s body, lifted him backward and slammed him head-first onto the ground.” Moments later, he punched the victim multiple times in the back. The incident took place on a reservation.

The life of a college student has changed forever during a confrontation among two other people
Williams fled the scene as a witness contacted 911 and waited for medical help to arrive. He was transported to a hospital in Missouri, where doctors later diagnosed him with paralysis. The person who drove Willaims said he bragged about the attack and called it fun.
Earlier this year, a federal jury found Williams guilty of maiming and assault resulting in serious bodily harm in Indian Country. Prosecutors wanted a 10-year sentence because the life-changing attack changed the victim. “Jace Williams’ intentional, violent attack has forever changed the life of the victim in this case. His egregious actions are inexcusable. This type of criminal conduct cannot and will not be tolerated,” said U.S. Attorney Clint Johnson.
The defense attorney claims the fight was over a rumor about Williams’ sex life
Williams’s defense attorney John M. Dunn claims the pair agreed to fight after a rumor spread around the school about him having a threesome with his girlfriend and another girl. He claims the victims’ friends started the rumor.
“Even if (for the sake of argument), the events occurred in a manner that leant themselves to an attack of (the victim) by Mr. Williams – it was still just a fight between boys. This was not a single act that was planned and intended from the beginning to break (the victim’s) back.”
In response, prosecutors submitted an interview where one of the witnesses said the victim didn’t have a chance to defend himself.
The victim’s mother also read an impact statement on behalf of her son and said she didn’t feel joy when the verdict was given.
‘I thought I’d be happy when the jury found you guilty, I can’t put into words how I felt, but happiness was not it. I do not envy you and the decision you have to make today on Jace’s sentence I just have to have faith God’s will be done with your judgment. Thank you.’
