A Texas man died from a heart attack after he was carjacked near his home in Houston early Friday morning.

According to ABC 13, the unnamed 72-year-old victim was approached by three gun-toting men while he was sitting in a black 2016 Nissan Juke near the 2600 block of Owens Cross Drive at 7:25 a.m. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement that the three suspects drove off in the vehicle after taunting the victim and he ran home to inform his wife about the incident.
The victim’s wife said he collapsed after he told her about the carjacking and passed away shortly after.

Investigators also reported another carjacking that occurred in the same area and they are currently trying to see if the two crimes are connected. Deputy Thomas Gilliland said in a statement he and his team are working hard to bring justice for the victim’s family. If caught, the three men could be charged with felony murder if enough evidence can prove that the carjacking led to his heart attack and death.
“Our deputies will and investigators will do everything we can to find these people and bring justice to this family,”
