Man Arrested For Using Former President Barack Obama’s Name On Gun Permit Application

A Tennesee man was arrested after he allegedly forged former President Obama’s name for a gun permit application.

Robert Joseph Hallick,51, was arrested last week for using  Obama’s name on the gun permit application before submitting it on January 21st. According to Chattanooga Police, Hallick was initially denied a gun permit request in November because of an active warrant for his arrest in Michigan.

Included with “Obama’s” application was a check for $50 and a letter containing the seal of the United States with a United States Department of State letterhead as reported by News Channel 9. Other sources reported Hallick would use Obama’s name on various social media platforms since 2019.

Chattanooga police charged Hallick with perjury, forgery, and identity theft. He was booked at the Hamilton County Jail but no further details revealed if he had legal representation or a pending court date.
