A Nashville, Tennessee man was arrested last weekend for allegedly using an Apple Watch to stalk his ex-girlfriend.

A local family safety center informed police that the victim wanted an order of protection after she discovered her 19-year-old ex-boyfriend, Lawrence Welch, followed her to the building. She claimed that he previously attempted to kill her several times and he reportedly faced two domestic assault charges on occasions that happened in July 2021. Before ending their relationship, the couple used the app Life360 to keep track of each other’s location and the victim said she would occasionally sign out of the app before visiting the family center.
Officers who arrived at the scene said they found Welch crouched down near his ex-girlfriend’s passenger side door. Additionally, the man wrapped his Apple Watch across the spokes of her side front car wheel and used the device to track her movements.

Welch was arrested last Friday and he faces charges of attaching an electronic device to his ex-girlfriend’s vehicle.
