Madea Is Back As Tyler Perry Partners With Netflix For ‘A Madea Homecoming’

Everyone’s favorite grandmother is back as Tyler Perry brings Madea out of retirement for an all-new film in partnership with Netflix.

Following the release of ‘A Madea Family Funeral’ many never expected to see the slick-talking gun holding grandma on the screen again, but Tyler Perry and the world had other plans. 

Hollywood Unlocked was on the carpet for the premiere of the movie which of course, not only had everyone laughing but told an important message as well.

We asked Perry what made him bring Madea out of retirement, which he said it wasn’t even a thought, the state of the world showed that there needed to be laughter not only for those to watch in the US but all around the world all in thanks to the partnership with Netflix.

If you recall, back in June of 2021, Perry took to Instagram making an announcement that Madea was back and on the streaming service with a little help from Madea.

Some of your favorite characters made a return like Mr. Brown, Cora, and Uncle Joe, while adding a few new characters to the mix. But two of the new characters come from an Irish sitcom that resembles Madea called ‘Mr. Brown’s Boys.’

When speaking to Perry on the carpet he shared that someone introduced him to the Irish sitcom and one thing led to another and the partnership between the two similar characters was born.
