Jamie Foxx is back!
The actor was spotted in public for the first time since he was hospitalized with an unspecified medical emergency in April.
In a video shared by TMZ, Foxx is seen cruising along the Chicago River on Sunday, accompanied by several of people. He acknowledged screaming fans by pumping his fist in the air as he sat on the bow of a large boat in Chicago. Foxx who wore a collared shirt and dark shades also gave fans the peace sign before waving.
Reps for Foxx didn’t share any new details about his health but the star tweeted about his outing:
“Boat life,” he tweeted with a fox emoji. He also noted he’s “celebrating summer” with his alcohol brand Brown Sugar Bourbon, ending his tweet with “Stay blessed.”
Jamie’s public appearance marks his first after he was hospitalized due to a medical emergency earlier this year. At the time, Corinne—whose mom is Connie Kline—shared a message about his condition on her family’s behalf.
She said at the time, “Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery,” she wrote in an April 12 statement. “We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers.” After a bunch of speculation, Corinne updated fans one month later, sharing the “Unpredictable” singer was home and recovering a few weeks after being discharged.
“My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks, recuperating,” the 29-year-old wrote in a May 12 Instagram Story post. “In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thanks for everyone’s prayers and support!”

Jamie himself broke his silence on social media to thank everyone for their love and support. He said back in May: “Appreciate all the love!!!”
Although fans are still wanting to know more about what really happened to him, it seems like Foxx is just getting back to enjoying life. As TMZ reports, on Monday he was also seen hitting up a Topgolf driving range over the weekend. An eyewitness says he had a very strong swing and even won his game!
