While sitting down with radio host and podcaster Bootleg Kev the other day, EST Gee gave Kev a look and then just picked himself up out of his chair and walked off of the set. On Tuesday (August 15), the Louisville, Kentucky native appeared on ‘The Bootleg Kev Podcast,’ for what was supposed to be a cool conversation about his life, music (like his forthcoming album ‘El Toro 2,’ which drops on Friday (August 18)), and more.

However, things went all the way left after just 25 minutes into the interview. Gee seemingly grew frustrated with some of Kev’s irregular, outside-the-box questions being asked, which were only meant to get the rapper to open up and show his personality.

Unfortunately, Kev’s quirky questions did the opposite, leaving Gee to close up like a clam. Clearly just having had enough, Gee decided to end the conversation dead in its tracks, literally mid-sentence for Kev who was asking Gee about getting signed to Memphis, Tennessee rapper Yo Gotti‘s record label CMG.

About 21 minutes into the conservation, Kev told Gee he saw him in a picture working out with an NFL team. Gee asked him where he saw the photo and did he not read the article that came with it, clearly trying to deflect from answering any questions about the situation.

As Kev continued to probe about this picture, Gee’s high school highlights and Gee announcing the college he wanted to commit to, Gee asked, “What do that go to do with music?” Kev explained that outside of music, he’s a huge football fan and “found it fascinating” that Gee had a huge, successful football career before his rap career took off, and he just wanted to know more.

Seeing that the Louisville rapper is getting increasingly frustrated and quiet, Kev changed gears and pivoted to ask him about when he first got signed to Gotti’s label amid a bidding war. Before Kev could even finish setting up the question, Gee fixed himself to get up out of his chair and walk off the set.

Kev was left in disbelief and played off the moment, but saying that this was the first time in his podcast’s history that anyone had walked off the set. He also said Gee had arrived to the interview 2 hours late and didn’t even seem interested.

Despite the interview being cut short, Kev and his team uploaded it, along with clips of the Louisville rapper walking out, and they soon went viral, causing social media to blast EST Gee.

Since the viral moment and backlash, Gee took to his Instagram Story and clarified things. He said, “You tryna play it like I walked out cause of football, like I ain’t did plenty interviews talking about playing and talk about it in my music. You asking me if I remembered an old man pornstar. If I believe in aliens and the NFL combine???? What the f**k do that got to do with my album dropping Friday?”

EST Gee continued, “And I literally just walked out that interview 2 hours ago. You already got a clip up??? You trying to go viral lol. I got real life sh*t going. Ask around. I don’t feel like playing, so please don’t play with me. ‘Cause I play crazy.”
