Louisville Bank Shooting: Four Deceased Victims Identified After Connor Sturgeon Fired Rifle Upon Reported Termination Notification
Louisville Metro Police Deputy Chief Paul Humphrey says the department received a call around 8:30 a.m. about a shooting at Old national bank on Main Street.
Within three minutes of the report, the LMPD officers were on the scene, where they found an active shooter inside the bank with an AR-15-style rifle.
The gunman has since been identified as 25-year-old Connor Sturgeon, and he was killed by police after a shootout with authorities.
The shooter was an employee of the bank who, reportedly, was given notification of his termination prior to the incident. It is reported that the shooting happened during a morning employee meeting — where some staffers appeared in-person and others virtually.
Those at home witnessed the entire ordeal, which, at the time of publishing this article, has currently left four people dead and nine more injured.
The four deceased victims have since been identified as 40-year-old Joshua Barrick; 45-year-old Juliana Farmer; 63-year-old Tommy Elliott; and 64-year-old James Tutt.
Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear said Elliott was a senior vice president at the bank, and was one of his closest friends.
As for the nine other people injured, they have all been hospitalized. It is reported that three are listed in critical condition, including a 26-year-old police officer who was shot in the head. The officer had just graduated from the police academy 10 days ago.
Three other victims were listed in non-critical condition, and three more have been released. A hospital spokesperson adds that five of the nine people injured had gunshot wounds.

Since the incident, Mayor Craig Greenberg spoke out and thanked the “brave and heroic” first responders for their actions, adding, “Without a doubt their actions saved lives.”
Elsewhere, it reported that this latest mass shooting arrives in a wave of mass gun violence, which is quickly becoming an American phenomenon.
In the last year, there have been at least 145 mass shootings in the United States, and in most of the cases, the gun used in the Louisville bank shooting is among the most popular: an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle.
