A woman says she was left burned and traumatized after being assaulted with hot chicken by a Popeyes manager during a dispute over her order.
Shena Decuir told KLFY that she had placed her order through the Popeyes mobile app at a location on Johnston Street in Lafayette. When she realized her order was wrong, she asked the manager for a refund or a correction. But instead of resolving the issue, things took a violent turn.

How the Incident Happened
Decuir says the confrontation occurred near closing time, when the manager seemed frustrated and agitated. She explained that while asking for a refund, the manager demanded the food back but refused to provide a receipt.
Thatโs when, according to Decuir, the manager threw hot chicken at her, leaving her with burns on her neck, chest, arms, legs, and feet. Police and EMTs were called to the scene, and Decuir was treated for her injuries. The manager has since been arrested and charged with simple battery, authorities confirmed.
Victim Speaks Out
Decuir, who is disabled from a previous severe incident, says she felt targeted and helpless during the attack.
โIโm glad it happened on camera because itโs him being a manager and knowing they have cameras and you still did that. What would happen if there wouldnโt have been cameras? And Iโm helpless. I was by myself. Itโs unacceptable,โ she told KLFY.
She added that while she is grateful for police action, she is still shaken by the assault.
