Louis Vuitton US Workshops Shift Production To Face Masks Amid COVID-19

Similar to Dior, who shifted usual production to create face masks amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, Louis Vuitton is following suit at their US workshops.

At their New Jersey, California and Texas factories, the iconic French fashion brand, known for its luxury bags, is producing nonsurgical cotton masks that are reusable, washable and adjustable to fit all faces.

The brand has also noted that they’re donating hundreds of thousands of the masks to medical personnel; plus, they are partnering with top charitable organizations in each state to distribute face coverings to regions who were hit the hardest by the pandemic.

The French brand also revealed plans last Friday about using its ready-to-wear atelier to create medical gowns for French healthcare workers across six hospitals  in the country.

On the brand’s Instagram, they shared photos of the masks in production, with the caption, “In order to provide protective gear to healthcare workers, Louis Vuitton has repurposed several of the Maison’s ateliers across France to produce hundreds of thousands of non-surgical face masks.”

On a secondary post, they caption, “Louis Vuitton wishes to thank the hundreds of artisans who have volunteered at Louis Vuitton’s ateliers across France. Because of their commitment, hundreds of thousands of non-surgical masks are being produced and donated to healthcare workers on the frontline.”
