Laura Hoyle,40, and Kirk Stevens, 39, lived together under an agreement that Hoyle didn’t pay any bills and only used her money to purchase lottery tickets. However, after winning the ‘set for life’ jackpot last March, Stevens said his ex-girlfriend decided to claim the £3.6 million($4.2 million) for herself and live in the five-bedroom house they purchased together. Additionally, he planned to propose to her and even took lengths to ask her parents for permission. At the time of the home purchase, Hoyle only put a ten percent down payment.
‘That should be my home too. We choose it together. It is the house we were meant to move in together. It is beautiful, absolutely beautiful. It is three story, five bedrooms. It is amazing!’

He told the Daily Mail that his ex should’ve split the winnings with him, but Hoyle decided to keep it all for herself since she bought the ticket with her own money.
‘I couldn’t make her stay when she said she didn’t want me so I helped her move out to help her out. She got a removals van and I helped her get her stuff out. It was about 10 weeks ago and she moved straight onto the new house, which should have been ours together. I’ve not been in it since it’s had walls!’
The former couple even shared custody of their dogs, Barny and Teddy. Stevens noted that the relationship wasn’t perfect, but they had slight issues. ‘The relationship was not perfect, but it was alright. There were a few problems towards the end, but I don’t want to say what. But I feel hard done by about the house, why wouldn’t you?’ he explained.
‘She was buying the new house with a mortgage for us and I was continuing to pay the mortgage on my £240,000 house where I have lived for seven years and where she had moved in with me rent free. We were happy with that arrangement and I had planned to rent my place out. I was paying my mortgage and bills and she was paying for food and the dogs’ insurance.’
The couple met through a friend in 2018, and she decided to move into his three-bedroom home in Nottinghamshire.
