Lizzo’s legion of Lizzbians should prepare for the “About Damn Time,” vocalist to make her debut on Matt Groening’s acclaimed sitcom The Simpsons.
It would appear as though Lizzo seemingly manifested the opportunity, as she shared her impressive Marge Simpson Halloween costume last October on Instagram. Now, the Atlantic Records signee will make things official, according to Entertainment Weekly, as Lizzo will guest-star in the season 34 finale of the show.
Lizzo appeared to be extremely excited about her upcoming part for the show and eagerly shared a preview of her likeness in The Simpsons’ universe in an IG post on February 16.
“SEE YOU IN SPRINGFIELD B***CH,” she wrote in all caps on the illustration produced by none other than the show creator Groening himself.

But the excitement doesn’t stop there. In addition to the character created in her likeness, Lizzo will also voice a second role in the episode — which will see her personify an adorable, green happy little elf doll. Additionally, new music will also be attached to the episode, which will air in May.
Executive producer for the Fox series, Tim Long and Flight of the Conchords’ actor Bret McKenzie wrote lyrics and a melody to a song that Long says Lizzo, “sang the hell out of.”
“The song is called, ‘It Was Marge, Bitch,’ and the bitch in question is Homer,” said Long. He continued, “I can’t give you too much context without giving you too much story, but it is really in her wheelhouse — and she sang the hell out of it.” Lizzo also reportedly brought out her weapon of choice, her flute, during the recording session for the song and episode.
Inspired by the classic short stories An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge by Ambrose Bierce and The Secret Miracle by Jorge Luis Borges, the plot of The Simpsons’ season finale episode is centered around time. Entitled “Homer’s Adventure Through the Windshield Glass” the entire episode takes place over the course of a few seconds. During these key moments, Homer Simpson is flying through the air after being ejected through the windshield of his car during an accident.
Along with her upcoming role in the series, Lizzo has recently expanded her acting portfolio tenfold. She guest-hosted the skit comedy show Saturday Night Live last December following the March premiere of her Amazon Prime documentary. The Grammy Award-winner also worked on multiple films in 2019 including Hustlers, Tattooed Love and The Angry Birds Movie 2.
