P.K. Subban has found himself in hot water after making a ridiculous comment involving Lizzo, and people on social media are outraged. The NFL star appeared on an ESPN broadcast to discuss the Toronto Maple Leafs and Florida Panthers’ second-round series, but for some reason found the need to bring the singer into his shady remark while giving his commentary.

After speaking about Toronto losing 4-2 against Florida, Subban added, “Maybe they need to pack a Lizzo-sized lunch. They weren’t prepared in my opinion.” Twitter users, in particular, felt that the remark was not only unnecessary but once again fat-shaming a woman, who, in this situation, happens to be Black. And though Subban later clarified that “pack a lunch” meant “to be ready to compete,” it was fair to say that the majority of people were not siding with his explanation and deemed his comment outright rude.

Rapper The Game even took to our comment section to remark to the Subban and his uncalled for choice of words, saying, “The black woman is the most disrespected woman in the world. Smh.” Another outraged social media user wrote, “What’s his handle so I can go to his comments and talk about his mama.”

One comment had a different point of view as they added their two cents to the conversation, writing, “When Tory Lanez or some other short Man is posted, Women laugh and make fun of them, but when a Man does it about a woman they get upset.”

This prompted one user to respond, commenting, “not gon lie when he said it my first thought was “ain’t she the spokesperson for love your body, I love being plus size, I’m comfortable in my body.” Why is this a big deal.

“But on the other hand buddy moms is in the same boat. So he wrong for that one big dog. Funny situation though, cause his moms about to be a meme without a doubt.”

Subban, who retired from professional hockey in late 2022, has since joined ESPN as their newest hockey analyst in a three-year deal, per the Associated Press.

Speaking of his partnership with the network after the announcement was made, Subban expressed, “I had done some work last postseason and it was great. I enjoyed working with the producers and everybody.”

Lizzo hasn’t responded to the viral clip of the former athlete taking a shot at her body, but at this point, fans say she shouldn’t even pay him any attention. The “Truth Hurts” singer has often been targeted and provoked by others who have taken issue with her weight, which is quite disturbing considering Lizzo tends to mind her business and doesn’t inset herself into drama.

She’s been picked on for far too long and it’s “about damn time” this stops.
