Liquor Stores Run Out Of Vodka Due To Coronavirus
While we previously reported that toilet paper was flying off of the shelves due to the coronavirus, TMZ reports that liquor stores across the nation are now running out of vodka amid the breakout.
In addition to hand gels and wet wipes, it seems like people are becoming even more resourceful, now grabbing bottles of vodka from their local liquor stores in order to concoct their own, homemade sanitizer to combat the virus.

However, there’s a specific brand that’s most potent and flying faster than the rest — Everclear 190-proof, the brand used traditionally for Jell-O shots, and now anticipated to kill the novel virus.
The publication says Seattle’s Downtown Spirits have completely run out of the liquor, with one of its clerks telling them they’ve sold 40 bottles in two days, more than twice what they normally sell. They explained, “They’re buying it for the sanitizer.”

The site also notes that another store, Broadway Spirits in Manhattan’s TriBeCa, also had customers phoning in ahead to confirm if the brand was still in stock. The clerk on duty, spoke with the site and told them they’re expected to begin backordering, due to the increased demand.
