During a recent episode of her ‘Heir Time’ podcast, Reginae Carter, 27, claims rapper Mack Maine, 43 — also the president of Carter’s father Lil Wayne‘s record label Young Money Entertainment — cost her a Disney Channel opportunity after his controversial lyric about a young Miley Cyrus, 33.
On April 6, 2009, Young Money dropped the music video to their song “Every Girl.” The musical collective was comprised of Lil Wayne, Drake, Jae Millz, Gudda Gudda, and Mack Maine. On the track’s fifth verse, Mack Maine rapped about a list of women he would want to smash; Miley Cyrus included.
After rapping about Paris Hilton, he rapped, “In about three years, holla at me, Miley Cyrus. I don’t discriminate, no, not at all.” At the time of the song’s release, Cyrus, who was born on November 23, 1992, was 16 and Mack Maine, who was born on July 28, 1982, was 26. Mack Maine’s full lyrics read:
“Sanaa Lathan, Meagan Good
Angelina Jolie, ha, D. Woods
For free suites, I’d give Paris Hilton all-nighters
In about three years, holla at me, Miley Cyrus
I don’t discriminate, no, not at all
Kit-Kat a midget – if that ass soft, I break her off
I exchange V-cards with the retards
And get behind the Christian like Dior ’cause he are
Mack Mizzle, baby
‘Cause he are Mack Mizzle, baby.”
Lil Wayne’s Daughter Reginae Carter Says Mack Maine’s Lyric About A Young Miley Cyrus Hurt Her Career
For years, Mack Maine’s lyric drew criticism and now we’re learning that they also appeared to also harm his “niece” Reginae Carter’s career. On the December 11 episode of ‘Heir Time,’ Carter spoke with Fat Joe’s daughter Azzy Milan.
During the conversation, Carter asked her if she ever had the public assume things about her because of who her father is. Milan asked Carter to give her an example, to which she mentioned her “uncle” Mack Maine’s Miley Cyrus lyric preventing her from getting a Disney Channel opportunity.
Carter said, “Because of who my dad is, they’re going to put [things] on me. Even with the Disney channel, my uncle had a song that said, ‘In about three years, holler at me Miley Cyrus.'” After Carter and Milan laughed at the lyric, they both agreed, “Disney don’t play.”
