Lil Nas X’s Lawyer Confirms Rapper is in Treatment Facility Following Arrest and Felony Charges
Lil Nas X, born Montero Hill, is facing one of the toughest seasons of his career. According to his lawyers, he is currently “in treatment” at a facility in another state following his arrest and arraignment on felony charges. During Monday’s court hearing, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Shellie Samuels gave him the green light to stay out of state as long as he remains in treatment.
“Defendant is allowed to remain out of state as long as he remains in treatment,” Judge Samuels stated, making it clear his inpatient care is the priority.
She also added, “If Hill’s ‘treatment changes, and he becomes outpatient, then we’ll talk,” before scheduling the next court date for November. The exact type of care Hill is receiving remains sealed.
“You heard the ‘treatment’ word. We’re doing what’s best for Montero personally and professionally, but most importantly, for his well-being,” his lawyer Drew Findling told reporters. “He’s surrounded by an amazing family and a fantastic team who care about him and love him. We’re just tackling those issues. It’s really as simple as that. He’s had a great life, and he’s gonna keep having a great life. This is just a bump in the road that he’s gonna overcome.”
The Felony Charges Against Lil Nas X
Back in August, things took a wild turn for the 25-year-old rapper. Hill was hit with three felony counts of battery with injury on a police officer and one felony count of resisting an executive officer. Prosecutors claim he was “strolling naked” on Ventura Boulevard around 5:40 a.m. on August 21. When police responded, they allege Hill assaulted the officers, injuring at least three of them.
If convicted, Hill could face up to five years in state prison. His arraignment took place on August 25, where he entered a not guilty plea. After spending the weekend behind bars, he was released on a $75,000 bond.
Lil Nas X Speaks Out After Arrest
Despite the serious allegations, Lil Nas X used his voice to reassure fans that he’s holding on. Taking to Instagram Stories, he dropped his signature humor even while admitting the situation was scary.
“Your girl is gonna be OK, y’all,” he told his followers. “OK? She’s gonna be all right. Shit.” Then with a shaky laugh, he added, “That was fucking terrifying. That was terrifying. That was a terrifying last four days. But your girl is gonna be all right.”
That moment showed fans he hasn’t lost his spirit even in the middle of a storm. Many rallied behind him online, reminding everyone that while the headlines are heavy, he’s still human.
