Tayy Brown, Lil’ Kim’s ex-boyfriend, is publicly apologizing after bashing her online last year, admitting he regrets his comments and was “struggling with drug and alcohol abuse,” and now “wants his girl back.”
The two first sparked romance rumors in February 2024, after reports broke about Lil’ Kim, then 49, dating her label artist — Tayy Brown, who was then 24. By April 2025, Brown was calling out Queen Bee, exposing their relationship, romance issues, and more.
A year later, Brown is now apologizing. On Monday evening (April 6), he went on Instagram Live and said since December 2025, he’s been reaching out to Kim, 51, trying to make amends. He said, “I’ve been trying to rebuild that relationship with her for a while now, and gain her trust back, and her love back, and that’s gonna be forever. It’s something I gotta work on. That’s just a part of relationships.”
Brown continued to share, “I felt like because I disrespected her publicly that I need to also, in addition to our private conversations, apologize publicly.” He went on to explain that last year was “one of the roughest years [he’s] ever faced in [his] entire life.”
Brown continued to admit:
“I was ashamed. I was ashamed of myself when I did the sh*t. I’m still ashamed of myself. Not to make it an excuse, during that I was struggling from a very heavy drug abuse an alcoholism. I wasn’t really in my right mind. I went to rehab, followed by an attempt on my life. Spent some time in jail. And I feel like the first thing I wanted to make right was me and Kim, and what I did to her. It’s something that I never, ever wanted to do. But, I did it and I’m facing that.” Brown continued to send a direct message to Kim stating, “Kim, I can’t tell you how apologetic I am for doing that. That’s not who I am at all, and I’m incredibly ashamed of myself. I said a lot of things that weren’t true. ‘Cause hurt people hurt people. It’s one of the greatest regrets of my life. And I’ll always have to live with that. But, I love her so much and I didn’t show that. That’s something I want to make right. Hopefully, one day she can find it in her heart to forgive me. I want to prove to her that that’s not the man I truly am. That’s it. I f***ed up. I f***ed up, terribly. I want my baby back. I want my girl back. And it’s gonna take some effort, but if that’s what I have to do, that’s what I have to do.” He added, “This is my apology to fans as well. I wouldn’t forgive me, honestly, but. That’s what I need.” He added, “Me and her are in a better place. I don’t know if she’s completely forgiven me.”

After Lil’ Kim’s ex-boyfriend went live on Instagram and publicly apologized, she let fans know that she saw his video. Especially, the part where he begs to get back with her. On Tuesday (April 7), Kim reacted to Brown’s apology video. Over a clip of him begging for her back, she simply put the sad face, head down emoji, “😔.”
