Lil Baby Reacts to White Rapper Who People Think Sounds Like Him: “Is This A Joke?”
A new artist named Lil Man J is currently going viral with his new song “Cap Freestyle.” The young rapper is gaining attention as people keep comparing him to the great rapper, Lil Baby. In his track, Lil Man J even compares himself to the My Turn entertainer saying, “Trying to be Black, I’m as white as can be / I’m the white Lil Baby, no one harder than me.”
One social media user reacted by saying, “Why can’t people just be themselves like be for f*cking real…” Another said, “He is the white Lil baby sound just like that boy no cap.” A third added, “He even name-dropped Lil Baby… bro, TELL ME… what is wrong with being ORIGINAL? Like… why are we seeing all these impersonators? These IMPOSTERS?”
So how does Lil Baby feel about all of this? Well, he clearly caught wind of Lil Man J’s viral moment and left a comment under the Instagram page of @ourgenerationmusic. Baby commented, “Is this a joke, or he serious?” Now, while it’s unclear if Baby is really bothered by the imitation, Lil Man J seems to not like getting action off of someone else’s name anymore.
In a follow-up video, Lil Man J says he’s not trying to be the next Lil Baby:
“Don’t get me wrong the publicity is great but I can’t build a career of being known as White Lil Baby. I need to solidify my spot as Lil Man J. So what I’m saying is I’m done bitting Lil Baby’s flow even though that wasn’t my intention in the first place. Now what I’m going to do moving forward is capitalize off of the success I got and show you guys who Lil Man J is.”

What Has Lil Baby Been Up To?
Just last month, Lil Baby popped out with the song “U-Digg,” where he teamed up with Detroit rappers 42 Dugg and Veeze. He also dropped his new documentary, Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby, which premiered at Tribec Film Festival. According to Billboard, it “follows Grammy-winning rapper Lil Baby’s meteoric rise in the rap game. As a teenager, Lil Baby (born Dominique Armani Jones) was a notorious West Atlanta street figure before being arrested and sent to prison. After his release in 2016, the then-21-year-old reached a crossroad: return to the streets or try his hand at a rap career. Choosing the latter and releasing a handful of mixtapes later, the Atlanta rapper droped his debut album, My Turn, in 2020 which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.”
Just recently he attended Michael Rubin’s Fourth of July star-studded bash in the Hamptons with other big stars like supermodel Kendall Jenner, NBA player James Harden and fellow rapper Drake.
