LeBron James has participated in NBA media days for nearly 20 years, but this one might be unique.
The Los Angeles Lakers are frequently in the spotlight, and this season is no different, especially with Bronny James joining his father on the team. The Lakers will definitely be under close observation.

On Monday, the Lakers will join 28 other teams in holding their media days, while the Celtics and Nuggets have already completed theirs. This event marks the start of training camp, which begins on October 1, in preparation for the 2024-25 season.
As we previously reported Bronny James, the eldest son of LeBron James, was selected by the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA draft. He was chosen as the 55th overall pick in the draft’s second round, with only a few picks left for the year.
Many people on social media felt that Bronny James being drafted to the Lakers was “nepotism” which sparked a lot of conversation on social media. The uproar on social media got so loud it even brought rapper Rick Ross into the discussion and he slammed people for speaking down on Bronny James’ talent.
“Nepotism-Nepotism. You all making me sick, every two years you’all coming up with a new word. ‘The Narrative’, ‘Toxicity’, ‘Toxic’, now it is Nepotism. 85% of all you motherf***ers got a job by somebody you know.”
The new coach for the Lakers, JJ Redick spoke out about the response from fans and emphasized that the 19-year-old player earned his spot on the team based on his own skills and abilities, rather than just being the son of the legendary LeBron James.
“I want to clarify one thing you just said,” Redick started out saying. “Rob and I did not give Bronny anything, Bronny has earned this. Bronny talks about his hard work and Bronny has earned this through hard work and for us prioritizing player development we view Bronny as like case study #1. There’s a lot to like about his game and as we start to build out our player development program, holistically he’s going to have a great opportunity to become an excellent NBA player.”
