While sharing behind-the-scenes footage of her PAPER Magazine photoshoot and cover release dinner, Latto updated fans about her being 8 months pregnant, she revealed that she and her man are hoping for a baby girl, and insisted that she wasn’t hiding her pregnancy before popping out preggo.
For months, Latto, born Alyssa Michelle Stephens, sparked pregnancy rumors with alleged beau, Atlanta rapper 21 Savage, born Shéyaa Bin Abraham-Joseph. Latto finally confirmed the pregnancy news on March 20, when she announced her new album, ‘Big Mama.’
She dropped the cover art and on it, she stood with a very pregnant belly bump. She also dropped a new music video, “Business & Personal (Intro).” The video featured the pregnant rapper piecing together a baby scrapbook. The book was full of her own baby photos, and with what fans pointed out as baby photos of 21 Savage.
Fans also pointed out 21’s tattooed hand holding her belly in the video. While the two rappers continue to remain silent on all of the clues, puzzle pieces, and speculation, Latto sent out baby shower invitations. The invites featured her and 21’s first names, Alyssa and Shéyaa.
8-Months Pregnant Latto Says She And Her Man Are Hoping For A Baby Girl, Also Insists She Wasn’t Hiding Pregnancy While Absent From Social Media
On March 30, Latto then dropped BTS footage of her PAPER Mag photoshoot and cover release dinner party. In the nearly 30-minute video, she updated fans on how far along she is in her pregnancy. A few times, she stated that she was 8 months and in her third trimester.
While choosing a viral TikTok sound to recreate, Latto insisted that she didn’t want people to think that she hid her pregnancy. Notably, the pregnancy rumors ramped up as Latto failed to post on social media as she regularly used to. Her absence only fueled rumors. However, in her BTS video, she clarified that she “was falling back ‘cause [she] wanted to fall back,” not necessarily because she was keeping her pregnancy a secret.
Later in the video, Latto spoke with celebrity friends like Flo Milli, Nene Leakes, and Phaedra Parks about the gender of her baby. In her PAPER Mag interview, she revealed that she and her man chose to learn the baby’s gender at delivery. While Flo Milli told Latto she believes she’s carrying a baby boy, Nene Leakes predicts it’s a baby girl. Latto then revealed that she and her man are hoping for a girl, but she’ll be happy with a boy as well.
