Las Vegas Mother Accused Of Smothering Newborn: There Was Something Evil In My Stomach And I Was Trying To Kill It’
A Las Vegas woman was taken into custody on Wednesday after she allegedly tried to smother her “evil” newborn on the way to the hospital.
Ashley Hollingsworth is facing one charge of attempted murder and child abuse, according to the Las Vegas police department.

According to reports, The 22-year-old had a home birth on Saturday and was going to MountainView Hospital when she wrapped a blanket around the baby’s head. She allegedly squeezed the blanket against the child’s nose and face. Once she arrived at the hospital, Hollingsworth refused to go into the emergency room because she was “bleeding profusely.”
Hollingsworth left the hospital and was found about two hours later with “self-inflicted injuries” to her head and face. She expressed to authorities that she was “beat up by a rock.”

She allegedly told police there was “something evil” in her stomach and was trying to kill it.
According to authorities, MountainView doctors originally believed the baby endured a brain bleed. However, the diagnosis proved the baby didn’t endure any injuries from the horrifying incident.
