Las Vegas Mass Shooting Victims & Relatives To Receive $800M Settlement

A judge has approved an $800 million settlement for the victims and relatives of those who lost their lives in the Las Vegas mass shooting at Mandalay Bay Resort on October 1, 2017 – exactly three years later.

Clark County District Judge Linda Bell signed off on the agreement between MGM Resorts International,  its insurers and the victims/relatives of the worst mass shooting in modern U.S. history. Per Deadline, the settlement includes the input of more than 4,400 relatives and victims connected to the incident that took place during the Route 91 Harvest County Music Festival in 2017. The shooting resulted in 850 people injured, 58 deaths, plus the death of the shooter, Stephen Paddock, and two women who later died in 2019 and 2020.

Terms of the settlement also state that while MGM Resorts International admitted no liability for the incident, they have agreed to pay $49 million of the settlement, with its insurance companies picking up the remaining $751 million. Conditions show that the dead and those with life-altering injuries will benefit the most rom the settlement funds.
