Larsa Pippen On Betrayal By The Kardashians, Falling Out Of Love With Scottie Pippen & Malik Beasley Relationship on Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee [UNCENSORED]
This week on Hollywood Unlocked with Jason Lee [UNCENSORED] Jason Lee goes one-on-one with Larsa Pippen, ex-wife of NBA star Scotty Pippen, for a surprisingly candid discussion of the misunderstood single mother’s real-life beyond all the salacious scandals and never-ending tabloid gossip.
At peace with her past in Los Angeles and has recently relocated to Miami, Florida, Pippen shares her experience as the mother of four children and stunningly beautiful ex-wife of basketball legend Scotty Pippen, before the pair split up cordially after 20 years of marriage. “People think if you break up it has to be toxic, but we still love each other,” said Pippen of her ex-husband. “We have great kids and we always do what’s best for our kids. I put them first and he does the same. Our main focus is our family.”
On the breakup of the marriage, Pippen explains, “We just stopped getting along. If you had asked me 10 years ago, I’d have said of course I’m going to be with him, but people change. People grow. People want different things… He wanted me to be the same person I was at 22 and I wasn’t, and I couldn’t change that.”
As close personal friends, Pippen relays to Lee her feelings about her recent betrayal and estrangement from former BFF Kim Kardashian and the Kardashian-Jenner family. Lee commends Pippen for not being pulled into the drama, despite knowing where “all the bodies are buried,” for the famous family.
“Things happen and our relationship had just gotten to a weird, ugly place,” says Pippen diplomatically of the split… We had a falling out, but I’m not going to be petty or immature… I will never come for them, even if they come for me… I think I’d be more hurt if I wasn’t who I am. I’m built like a Rolls Royce. I actually have more blessings not being with them than I did with them, so I’m good.”
No stranger to public celebrity feuds as the brain trust behind the Hollywood Unlocked media empire, Lee feels comfortable letting Pippen share strategies on coping with the scrutiny and having her every move dissected through the negative filter of scandal mongers and trolls.
“Larsa Pippen is not the character she’s portrayed as in the tabloids,” said Jason Lee. “She’s a sincerely genuine soul who followed her heart into a life in the celebrity fishbowl. Larsa deals with her challenging circumstances with wisdom and remarkable grace, no matter what the lovers and haters around her do or say. I’m proud to call her a true friend.”
The duo also discusses the ongoing misperceptions of her most notable romantic associations, including being propositioned by rap star Future and, most recently, as the love interest of Timberwolves star Malik Beasley, which came with some bumps in the road.
Pippen’s candid exchange of information with Lee belies the misperceptions of the life she has led as portrayed in the tabloids. “Because of who I am, I feel like stories are written that are not true and unnecessary,” she says. “I might not defend myself because I’m too happy a person to get into needless drama. As long as my kids and I know what’s happening in our lives, I’m good with that.”
