Landlord Asks Tenant To ‘Spend The Night’ After She Couldn’t Afford Rent
A sneaky landlord reportedly used a tenant’s struggling circumstances to prey on her.
Buzzfeed News reports that Gail Savage received a text from her landlord messaged asking her if she would “stay all night” with him. She initially thought he had texted her on accident.
“I was like, He probably meant to send that to his girlfriend,” Savage, 29, told the outlet.

Savage lost her job once Coronavirus lockdowns were implemented. She informed her landlord that she was waiting on her stimulus check to arrive to pay her April rent when he suddenly sent the texts.
“I don’t know if you meant to send that to me,” she replied.
“I did,” he responded.
As soon as she found out what was going on, Savage picked up her son and left, without knowing f they would have a place to stay.
“The second I figured out it was happening, it was the craziest thing: I put Salem in his car seat and walked out the door,” added Savage. “I was like, I don’t know where I’m going, but I can’t stay. I was scared.”
This is not the first time landlords have been acting seedy during the pandemic. As we reported, one woman texted her landlord about payment issues and he responded to her with a dick pic! In addition, another woman said her landlord responded asking to spoon with her when she asked for help.
