La’Myia Good, actress and sister of fellow actress Meagan Good, recently called out the NAACP Image Awards for not honoring her sister at their 55th annual ceremony, further claiming that her 42-year-old sister never receives her flowers. La’Miya, 44, said her sister “loves her craft, lives and breathes her craft,” but still continues to be overlooked at award shows.
Despite this, however, La’Myia notes, “Meagan doesn’t need the awards, it’s something she needs for her heart because she knows she is ten toes down and she knows exactly of the gifts that God has given her… but I’M SICK of not seeing my sister get the respect she deserves in this game.”

During an Instagram Live on Saturday (March 16), La’Myia spoke with fans about her disappointment with NAACP not recognizing her sister’s talents enough to give her any awards. Meagan Good was up for “Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series” for ‘Harlem‘ and “Outstanding Actress in a Television Movie, Limited–Series or Dramatic Special” for ‘Buying Back My Daughter.’
Agreeing with a fan speaking on Meagan Good’s 30-year career, La’Myia Good said, “She doesn’t get the credit she deserves in the industry. I am so sick of it. I am so motherf***ing sick of it. This industry owes her so many awards. Good thing she don’t give a f**k about that. But I am so sick of seeing this industry not give her her props. And namely, I’m tired of us not giving her her props. Because she has held the community down in multiple ways. Not just on-screen, but in her community.”
Demanding “respect on [her] sister’s motherf***ing name,” La’Myia continued to say, “She mentors young women. What do you want from this woman? She’s a phenomenal actress. She has given so much to the industry over so many years. She’s helped other people accomplish their goals in this industry. She’s paved the way for other actors, producers, all kinds of people. I don’t understand what [more] they want from her. I’m getting sick of it. I’m disgusted. I just don’t understand it. Can somebody help me out?”
La’Myia Good continued, “I don’t normally… Our family is pretty quiet, we don’t really say too much. But, f**k that! She deserves. She should have won those awards tonight, period, point blank. And that’s not to discredit any other actor or actress, or any other people in the category that she’s in. Meagan deserves her motherf**k*ing dues. And I hate how we just take from people, watch all of her stuff, but you won’t give her the awards and honor her in the way that she’s supposed to be.”
Meagan’s sister continued, “She’s like 30 years deep in this…more. Credits from top to bottom. And on top of that, she’s a good f***ing person. She’s a good person to the core of her. Anybody who’s ever met her knows. She is a good person. She comes to work every day… she shows up… she puts her all into it. I’m just so sick of her not getting the accolades that she deserves.”
As fans continue to agree with La’Myia Good and offer theories of why she hasn’t been honored, like maybe jealousy, the ‘Waist Deep’ actress’ sister adds, “I feel like the industry is so… they decide who’s going to hot this season… but she’s hot every motherf***ing season! Every season! When is she not hot?! I’m just really disgusted. NAACP, disgusted. Did not do right by her. So, I’mma let y’all marinate on that. I’m gonna need all the awards for her next year and we need to advocate.”
La’Myia continued, “Give the people who’ve been in the industry, putting in the work, give them their props. She’s not a season f***ing actress. She is that girl! Stop it! Stop playing with her! I don’t care if y’all have anything to say about her personal life. What does personal life have to do with her quality of [being] a human being that she is and the quality of work that she puts in?”
La’Myia again disclaimed that she “normally doesn’t do anything like this,” but she asserted, “My heart is just f***ing broken because she should have been accepting awards tonight.”
