Lamar Odom has recently filed a lawsuit against his ex-manager, Tonita Bybee, alleging that she stole from him and forged documents in an attempt to take ownership of a Brooklyn home that has been in his family for nearly three decades. The lawsuit, which seeks over $1 million in damages, accuses Bybee of embezzlement, identity theft, and fraud.
Odom terminated Bybee as his manager in May of 2022, but she continued to book him for work and accept payment even after being fired, per the legal docs. Not only that, but she also allegedly used Odom’s name, signature, email addresses, social media accounts, and social security number without his permission. This lawsuit sheds light on the unfortunate reality of celebrities falling victim to unscrupulous individuals who take advantage of their fame and trust.

According to the suit, Bybee went as far as forging documents related to the Brooklyn home in order to claim ownership. Odom’s allegations extend beyond his ex-manager, as he also accuses a notary involved in the real estate deal of improperly notarizing the forged documents. This raises questions about the integrity of the entire transaction and highlights the need for proper oversight and due diligence when it comes to legal and financial matters.
In addition to the stolen property, Odom claims that he is still owed payment for various projects, including an NFT deal and appearances on reality shows. This further emphasizes the financial impact that Bybee’s alleged actions have had on Odom’s career and livelihood. It is disheartening to see someone entrusted with managing the affairs of a high-profile individual abuse their position for personal gain. The lawsuit also brings attention to another issue that Odom is facing – the hijacking of his social media accounts by his former management team.
Odom alleges that they have refused to give him access to his accounts and have been posing as him, posting on his behalf without his permission. This has resulted in a loss of income for Odom, as he is unable to fulfill his contractual obligations with various companies that require social media promotion.
The financial impact of this situation is significant, with Odom estimating a loss of approximately $8,000 per post. To rectify this, Odom and his new team are working with Meta Legal to regain access to his accounts and are reaching out to representatives at TikTok and Twitter.
