Brooklyn Nets star, Kyrie Irving was recently cut off by Nike after the NBA player received backlash for tweeting out a link, seemingly promoting an anti-semitic film.
As we previously reported, Nike originally suspended Irving last month, but now the company has decided to officially part ways with him. Following the announcement the point guard sent out a tweet to anyone who has ever bought his shoes.

“Anyone who has even spent their hard earned money on anything I have ever released, I consider you FAMILY and we are forever connected. it’s time to show how powerful we are as a community.” He said.

Kyrie Irving’s decision to tweet that link has caused him a lot of issues but he has publicly apologized and assured his fans not he’s not anti-Jewish.
On Saturday (November 19), the 7 time All-Star sat down for an exclusive interview with SNY and had this to say:

“I don’t have hate in my heart for the Jewish people, or anybody who identifies as a Jew. I’m not ‘Anti-Jewish,’ or any of that. And it’s been difficult to sit at home with my family, with them seeing all of this.”
He also said:
“I really want to focus on the hurt that I caused or the impact that I made within the Jewish community. Putting some type of threat, or assumed threat, on the Jewish community.
I just want to apologize deeply for all my actions throughout the time that it’s been since the post was first put up. I’ve had a lot of time to think. But my focus, initially, if I could do it over, would be to heal and repair a lot of my close relationships with my Jewish relatives, brothers and sisters.”

Irving missed eight games for tweeting that link out before being reinstated by the Nets on Nov. 20. Now he’s back on the team and balling out. #Socialites do you think he will bounce back from this and land another deal with a big sneaker company?
