Kylie Jenner’s Beauty Company Sued Over Coty Cosmetics Deal
It looks like Kylie Jenner can’t catch a break, and now the young business mogul’s beauty brand is reportedly being sued by Seed Beauty.
Seed Beauty has been working with the star’s brand since 2016, and the company helps produce her line of popular products. However, Seed Beauty is not pleased with Kylie’s mega-deal with Coty.
According to TMZ, Seed Beauty believes the new deal will give Coty access to their beauty secrets as they are a competitor.
In the court documents, Seed claims that they’ve been providing their secret recipe to products to Kylie over the years, and it has aided in her huge success.
As we reported, Kylie sold the majority of her company to Coty for $600 million, but, Seed Beauty claim that Kylie’s company failed to ensure that Seed‘s methods would not be given to Coty, and wants to protect its business model.
Ultimately Seed is asking a judge to block Kylie and Coty from using their trade secrets. Similarly, Seed filed a civil lawsuit in California’s superior court against Kim Kardashian West’s KKW Beauty, seeking protection of Seed’s trade secrets, after news broke that Kim would also be doing a similar deal with Coty.
