Kodak Black Threatens To Sue Prison For Denying Access To His Rabbi
Jailed Florida rapper Kodak Black threatens to sue the Kentucky prison he’s being held in for denying him access to his rabbi. Kodak’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, says for months his client has been requesting to meet with his personal rabbi, or any rabbi available.
His reason for being adamant is reportedly due to Kodak wanting to nurture his mental state, while he finishes his 46-months bid for gun charges. Cohen adds that prison officials have been radio silent and have yet to cooperate with the religious request; therefore, he’s gearing up to file a lawsuit on his client’s behalf, citing that the prison and its operators are violating Kodak’s First Amendment right to practice his religion.

While face-to-face visits with religious figures are on hold due to COVID-19, Cohen says the chaplain at the Bluegrass State Penitentiary admitted that phone calls were not. Furthermore, for those asking themselves, ‘Kodak Black is Jewish?,’ Cohen explains that the rapper does indeed identify as such, despite him still needing to convert.
