Kim Kardashian West Meets with Oklahoma Death Row Inmate Julius Jones

Kim Kardashian is continuing her fight for criminal justice reform and recently visited Oklahoma death row inmate Julius Jones.

Jones was a 19-year-old honor student when he was arrested for allegedly shooting and killing 45-year-old Paul Howell in 1999. Paul is white and Jones is black.

Kardashian, 40, went to Oklahoma City to meet Jones in person on Monday.

“She is assisting his legal team – since she’s studying to become a lawyer through her apprenticeship in [California] – and then met with his family,” a source told Page Six.

Jones’ mother reportedly became emotional during the meeting as she spoke on the night of Howell’s murder, revealing that Julius was at home with her the entire time.

Jones’ initial appeal revealed that his fate came down to a racist juror. Another  juror told Jones’ lawyers in 2017 that another juror used a racist term to describe Jones and said that the police should “shoot [Jones] behind the jail.”

However, Attorney General Hunter refutes Jones’ claims adding that “every criticism surrounding his case has been disproven.”

“Celebrity endorsements and biased documentaries cannot erase the facts of the case that overwhelmingly prove Julius Jones killed Paul Howell in cold blood.”

“Jones had his day in court and has exhausted his appeals at every level. He committed this horrific crime and now must serve the sentence a jury of his peers deemed appropriate. I encourage those advocating for Jones, including Mrs. Kardashian West, to research the case and read the summary of the transcript on our website.”
