Kim Kardashian Pleads With Donald Trump To Commute Brandon Bernard Execution

After a federal judge denied his lawyers’ request to halt his lethal injection, Kim Kardashian West is now pleading with Donald Trump to commute the execution of 40-year-old Brandon Bernard. Taking to Twitter, Kardashian West writes, “Brandon Bernard, a 40-year-old father is going to be executed tomorrow by our federal government. Having gotten to know Brandon, I am heartbroken about this execution. I am calling on @ realDonaldTrump to grant Brandon a commutation and allow him to live out his sentence in prison.”

Bernard is currently scheduled to be executed tomorrow (Dec. 10) at the US Penitentiary in Terre Haute, Indiana. In 2000, Bernard was sentenced to death after a jury found him guilty of carjacking and murdering Todd and Stacie Bagley the year before in Texas. Kardashian is said to have first learned of Bernard’s case last month when his legal team appealed to Trump for clemency.

Although she condemned his crimes, the reality star turned activist and legal apprentice believes Bernard doesn’t deserve to die because of his actions at age 18. Additionally, the inmate’s lawyers argue that the jury wasn’t presented with evidence during his trial, which showed that he held a “lowly position” in the gang that killed the Bagleys.
