Kim Kardashian said that her children were part of the reason that she decided to pursue law because her kids didn’t stand “as good of a chance” as white children if they were to ever be arrested.
While speaking to Hillary and Chelsea Clinton on their Apple TV+ series “Gutsy,” Kardashian said, “my kids were there every time I opened my results,” referencing the “baby bar” law exam that she took three times before finally passing in December 2021.

“They saw me cry the best tears of happiness that like, I did it. I mean, that is one of the reasons that I just fight so hard. Because my kids, if they were to get arrested, they just don’t have as good of a chance if I were to get arrested, or if you were to get arrested.” Chelsea then replied saying, “or my kids, my white kids.”
As we previously reported, Kardashian tweeted to her fans to imply that she’d finally passed. She live-tweeted a KUWTK episode, writing in one tweet, “I spend so many hours studying but it’s definitely worth it.” In a separate tweet, a fan asked whether her baby bar experience will be highlighted in her upcoming Spotify podcast series, to which she responded, “It’s going to be the best! I can’t wait for you guys to tune in.”
However, during the May 27 episode, she reveals to Kourtney and Khloé that she didn’t pass the exam. “So, you guys, I did not pass the baby bar,” she shares. “If you are doing law school the way I’m doing it, it is a four-year program instead of your typical three-year program. And after year one, you have to take the baby bar. This one’s actually harder, I hear, than the official bar.” In order to pass, Kardashian needed a 560, and she received a 474. She ended up retaking the baby bar in November 2020, and during the show’s season finale on June 10, 2021, it was revealed that she failed again. This time around, she scored a 463.

Fast-forward to December 2021, and Kardashian has officially passed! On Dec. 13, 2021, Kim revealed the exciting news on Instagram. “Looking in the mirror, I am really proud of the woman looking back today in the reflection,” she wrote. “I know my dad would be so proud and he would actually be so shocked to know that this is my path now but he would have been my best study partner. I am told he was notorious for making fun of people who didn’t pass on their first attempt like he did, but he would have been my biggest cheerleader!”
