Kim Kardashian Denies Smuggling ‘Looted’ Ancient Roman Sculpture, It Was Kanye

Previously, we shared that Kim Kardashian was hit with a lawsuit by the government and asked by the feds to return a “looted” ancient Roman sculpture. Well, Kim is now reportedly denying any roles in smuggling the artifact, claiming it was her estranged hubby Kanye West who purchased it.

Upon the feds seizing the statue to take back to Italy, a source says Kim was unaware her name was attached to a purchase apparently made by Kanye. Per the lawsuit, the paperwork for the statue — which dates back 1st or 2nd Century Rome and was shipped to the U.S. in 2016 — lists “Kim Kardashian dba Noel Roberts Trust” as the consignee and importer. Now, Noel Roberts is said to be a trust Kim used to make other big-ticket purchases; however, a rep for the reality TV star denies her ever making this deal.

The source adds that Kim just found out that the piece was actually bought by Kanye when he purchased a huge haul of art. It’s reportedly unclear if he bought  it as a gift or if he even planned on telling Kim, but the source affirms she knew nothing about the purchase. As mentioned, the artifact was looted, reportedly from an archaeological site and is considered a cultural treasure; thus the reason for the feds’ seizure.
