Kid Cudi recently wrote a sweet tribute to Lil Nas X and promised to “stand with him” against homophobia.

“Lil Nas X is a new twist on some of the themes I was riding on when I first started out: being true to yourself and not giving a f**k what anyone says,” Cudi wrote for Time’s list of the 100 Most Influential People, for Lil Nas X was selected this year.

“What he’s doing is what we need right now,” Cudi continued. “To have a gay man in hip-hop doing his thing, crushing records — that is huge for us and for Black excellence. The way he’s unafraid to make people uncomfortable is so rock ‘n’ roll. He’s a true rock star.”

Since 2019, when Lil Nas came out as gay he has had a target on back. Plenty of rappers and media outlets have spoke out about his live performances and the way he trolls people on the internet but honestly he is just being himself and living in his truth.

The two-time Grammy winner has blocked the haters out and have only made them more upset. His debut album is set to be released this Friday and fans are expecting him to break plenty of records.

Its safe to say Kid Cudi will always stand behind Lil Nas as he wrote him saying, “there’s a homophobic cloud over hip-hop, and he’s going to break that sh*t down, we have to stand with him. I’m going to do whatever I have to do to let him know — you have my support.”
