If you own a Kia, you might want to take extra precautions because the vehicle manufacturer recently announced that it would recall an additional 192,000 cars due to the risk of the engine exploding in flames.

According to WSBTV, the recall includes 2013 and 2014 Optima midsize vehicles and 2011 and 2012 Sedona minivans.

The car manufacturer already recalled a different model that affected 229,000 vehicles due to a different fire hazard.

Jason Levine of the Center for Auto Safety spoke with WSBTV about the safety issues,

“We’re really concerned this is only confusing consumers, and they are trying to keep a limit on the number of vehicles they are recalling instead of being as wide as possible,” Levine revealed.

One of the most tragic cases involved Carol Nash and her son. Nash previously detailed the day she heard horrifying screams for help outside of her apartment. She soon saw her SUV burning in the parking lot, but it was too late to save her son, who was in the driver’s seat.

“I could not do anything except stand there and watch him die,” Nash told Go Public at the time.

Keith Nash, 48, burned to death on April 19, 2017, in his mother’s 2014 Kia Soul. Two years later, the company would issue a recall for the same type of car.

“I suffer on a daily basis with this because I have no answers,” she added.
