During an interview with a local Fox TV station, Fire Chief Kristin Crowley lashed out against the mayor’s cuts to her department. She stated on air, “My message is the fire department needs to be properly funded,” the chief said. “It’s not. Did they fail you?” Fox LA’s Gigi Graciette asked. “Yes,” Crowley replied.

So far, more than 50,000 outraged Los Angeles residents are demanding the ouster of Mayor Karen Bass in a new petition, condemning “mismanagement” in her disastrous response to the devastating wildfires ravaging the city.
Governor Gavin Newsom has also faced heavy criticism, with many demanding to know why hydrants are running dry while wildfires devastate the city. However, he has since announced an investigation into this issue.
“I am calling for an independent investigation into the loss of water pressure to local fire hydrants and the reported unavailability of water supplies from the Santa Ynez Reservoir. We need answers to ensure this does not happen again and that we have every resource available to fight these catastrophic fires.”
