Keyshia Cole hopped onto her Instagram Story on Tuesday, telling fans she had taken herself to the hospital after experiencing severe anxiety attacks. The Enough Of No Love songstress said that her health had deteriorated so badly that she even felt her heart hurt at one point, giving her all the more reason to seek immediate medical treatment.

It certainly hasn’t been an easy year for Keyshia, who lost her mother, Frankie Lons, to a drug overdose in the summer of 2021 before her father, Leon Cole, died following Covid-related complications in November that same year. While it’s unclear whether her anxiety was brought on by the sudden passing of both of her parents, the 40-year-old let it be known to her fans that she’d been struggling and took it upon herself to get some help.

“I’m so proud of getting a few hours sleep, literally have been getting None!” she penned on her Instagram Story. “So not ok. SMH. And, have been having the worst anxiety attacks. When I can literally feel my heart hurting. Had to take my ass to the emergency room. They gave me damn medicine for anxiety [face palm emoji] I didn’t KNOW wtf was happening to me.”

When Did Keyshia Cole’s Mother Die?

The Shoulda Let You Go vocalist was stunned by the death of her mom last summer, much to the surprise of her fans, who expressed their condolences in the comment section of a Twitter post where Keyshia had paid tribute to Frankie, whom she had shared an on-again, off-again relationship throughout her life. “I’ve dealt with a lot of “trauma” but this trams hurts the worst,” the mother-of-one reflected in her tweet “Self healing is the toughest thing to do. And I hope everyone (including myself) learns how to self love, to get it.”

While she couldn’t turn back time, Keyshia stressed that she had wished there was more she could have done to help her mother with her problems, considering Frankie had faced a lengthy battle with sobriety. “I wish I could’ve healed your pain,” she added in another tweet before sharing all of the things she would miss about her mother and expressing her gratitude for all the beautiful moments they shared together.

Meanwhile, Keyshia recently made headlines after appearing on TV One’s Uncensored, saying her friendship with rapper and actress Eve had ended after the Oakland native had put her hands on someone trying to take her friend’s bag. But according to KC, Eve did not appreciate things resulting in violence over the incident.

“Eve was really pissed off about that like we stopped hanging out. She was like, ‘I can’t hang with Keyshia like she can’t be slapping people.’ It taught me a lot later, too, because being who I am today. She can get sued too.
