Kevin Federline and his ex father-in-law Jaime Spears are reportedly working on a book about fatherhood and their personal experiences.

The ex-husband of Britney Spears is writing a book about his experience raising his children and her father has agreed to help him out with the endeavor. According to Page Six, the men are on great speaking terms three years after Federline filed a retraining order against Jaime for allegedly abusing his grandson Sean Preston. Although he wasn’t charged for the alleged abuse, the protective order prevented Spears from visiting his two grandson for three years.

Spears and Federline reconciled after he revealed during an interview with the Daily Mail that he wanted Jaime to be a part of his sons’ lives in August. “People make mistakes, I feel bad for him, I feel like he’s been put through the ringer,” he explained to the outlet. Spears also spoke with the Daily Mail on Sunday to discuss his role in his daughter’s conservatorship and how she would’ve been “dead” if he didn’t step in to help her.

‘Not everybody’s going to agree with me,’ Jamie shrugs. ‘It’s been one hell of a time. But I love my daughter with all my heart and soul. Where would Britney be right now without that conservatorship? And I don’t know if she’d be alive. I don’t. For protecting her, and also protecting the kids, conservatorship was a great tool. Without it, I don’t think she would have got the kids back.’

The pop star’s estranged father revealed he is currently living with Jamie Lynn in Louisiana and said he misses his grandsons.

‘I miss my two boys really, really bad, I do.You know, we were very, very close. They were around that age where you could start having a good time with them. But they were developing a mind of their own. God makes things happen for a reason. I don’t know what that reason is but it’s been a tough three years without them. The family’s a mess. All we can do is keep praying.’

After fans learned that Kevin Federline and Jamie Spears were going to work together on their book, fans speculated that they are using Britney’s name in order to remain relevant. ‘Milking Britney’s name is the only career they ever had and they will continue to do so til the end of time,’ one user wrote on Twitter.
