Kelly Clarkson Show Could Replace The Ellen DeGeneres Show
The future of Ellen’s show is looking bleak and to might get replaced by the Kelly Clarkson show.
According to Page Six, DeGeneres’s show is having difficulty securing high ratings and her fanbase is falling off following accusations that she has a toxic workplace. Overall, her ratings have slipped 8 percent.
“As you may have heard this summer, there were allegations of a toxic work environment at our show and then there was an investigation. I learned that things happened here that never should’ve happened. I take that very seriously, and I want to say I’m so sorry to the people who were affected. I know that I’m in a position of privilege and power and I realized that with that comes responsibility, and I take responsibility for what happens at my show,” Ellen previously said.
As of now, The Kelly Clarkson Show airs right after DeGeneres’s show, but, after Ellen’s remaining year is over, Kelly could take over if Ellen is not renewed.
In December 2020, Kelly’s ratings matched Ellen’s. Apparently, a source told Page Six, that Ellen wants out, however, the studio wants to keep the time slot.
“Telepictures knows Ellen wants out, but execs want to keep the time slots and put another host in her place,” the source said. “Kelly would likely get Ellen’s time slots, but Telepictures will fight to keep them.”
