Beloved actress Keke Palmer is sharing a message to her supporters following an unfortunate encounter with a fan. The star took to Twitter this Saturday morning to share that she’s upset after someone continued to film her after she politely refused to take any pictures.
In Keke’s first tweet, she explained, “No means no, even when it doesn’t pertain to sex. I was at the bar the other day and this girl asked me three times for a picture, and I told her three times nicely that I did not want take one with her. She still proceeded to film me against my will…” She added in another tweet, “If I went off on her, I would’ve been wrong, so I just nervously laughed while my privacy was invaded upon.”
The 28-year-old added, “Clearly I’m still upset about it cause I hated that I smiled, but that is my defense mechanism to laugh or joke in an uncomfortable situation, and it misleads people every time. Literally, I could be wanting to scream, and on the outside I’m still preforming. The fact that I tell people no at all is therapeutic progress for me lbvs. Creating boundaries can sometimes be so difficult but when you people please or always try to avoid conflict, you let yourself down every time… Good luck to all those who also struggle with this from time to time. ♥️” She concluded, “If you ever want a picture with me and I say no, let’s just let that rock.”

First Time Keke Demanded Respect From Fans And Her Peers
Keke has spoken out on a similar topic before when she accused singer Trey Songz of sexual intimidation after she allegedly didn’t authorize her cameo in his music video. She said at the time, “This is preposterous. How am I in this video Trey? After you found me in a closet HIDING because I was so afraid of anymore conflict,” Palmer wrote. “Literally my last option was to hide because you all would not listen when I said I did not want to be in the video the FIRST time.” She added at the time, “Just cause you give someone food and alcohol and throw in a little sexual intimidation doesn’t mean they will buckle. Yet, you still disrespected me as a young women, whom you’ve known since she was TWELVE. YOU STILL, defied my wishes and in turn showed your lack of respect for a brand that took me fourteen years to build and put me in the video against my wishes.”
Palmer accused Songz and his production team of secretly filming her during the 2017 music video shoot. In the video, Keke, who was 23 at the time, sitting on a couch taking selfies on her phone. Her likeness also appeared in the track’s lyrics, as MIKExANGEL raps, “I palm her p–sy like KeKe / Like KeKe, Like Keke”
“Come on bruh, I clearly said no and you said okay, yet I was being secretly filmed when you told me ‘let me just show you the idea’?? Wow. This is what I’m referring to in my previous post, this is the sexism and misogyny I refer to because if I was a dude, he wouldn’t have even tried me like this,” Palmer added while calling our Trey. “Let this be a lesson to all, I’m not for the bulls–t.” she goes on. “I’m serious about my business and you will not use my likeness without MY permission. When you in front of a boss you treat them like one, like I treat YOU. NO MEANS NO!!!!!!! People have to listen to women and stop questioning them and their intelligence. Speak up, cause when you look someone in the face and they say “I understand. You don’t have to feel pressured to do the video” and they STILL put you in it, it is a violation. It would be great to be able to handle these things privately but why when they aren’t respected?” Keke concluded.
Trey, who is currently back in the headlines due to new allegation of sexual assault, did respond to her claims during that time. In a statement he said, “So sorry for those that believe everything without knowing anything. However, I cannot devote my life to responding to, or clearing up every side of every story you hear about me, when would I actually live? I know my character, I know my truth, I know my heart. God does too. Words to anyone who’s being tested right now…I feel you, it’ll pass, I’ve been in a million storms…they all pass. Don’t let the noisy thoughts of others drown your inner voice, or inner peace for that matter.”
