Katy Perry Says She Couldn’t Use The Met Gala Restroom Because She Was Pinned Into Her Oscar de la Renta Gown

Katy Perry quipped that she wouldn’t be able to use the restroom at the Met Gala in New York last night due to the countless pins holding her Oscar de la Renta dress together. The Champagne Showers hitmaker looked breathtaking in a lacy black and cream gown, paired with nude-colored heels as she arrived at the occasion, having opted to keep her sleek jet black tresses tied in a ponytail while sporting a radiant look in the makeup department. And while her ensemble was undoubtedly a showstopper at the event, the 37-year-old shared that it wasn’t exactly the most practical thing to wear since she struggled using the toilet once inside the venue.

While being interviewed on the red carpet, the American Idol judge acknowledged that the elegant outfit contrasted the cheeseburger dress she wore to the Met Gala back in 2019. “I mean it isn’t my first rodeo, so I feel like I can relax,” she explained. “You know last time I came to the Met, I was a cheeseburger, I loved it. I was like: ‘What am I going to do tonight?'”

She then went on to add that her fashionable frock was stitched and pinned in so many areas that it was going to be impossible for her to use the toilet, meaning that for the duration of her time at the Met Gala, she would have presumably refrained from drinking too much. “We have a nice bustle in the back, paying homage to the theme, but not too much,” Katy continued. “I’ve been pinned in for three hours. Don’t ask me how I’m going to the restroom ever or anyone at the Met.”

Last night’s Met Gala was attended by some of the biggest A-list celebrities, including the entire Kardashian family, Kylie and Kendall Jenner, Blake Lively, Cardi B, and more. Tickets to attend the prestigious annual event were said to have been priced at an estimated $35,000 while tables reportedly cost between $200k to $300k.

Meanwhile, back in February, Katy addressed rumors she may have already tied the knot with her fiancé Orlando Bloom, who proposed to her back in 2019. The pair had previously planned to get married in 2020, but they decided to halt those plans until further notice following the coronavirus pandemic.

During a chat on the Kyle and Jackie O Show, the Harleys in Hawaii pop star was asked whether there was any truth behind speculation that she may have quietly hosted secret nuptials. But Katy gave a nonchalant response, insisting that she hadn’t gotten a chance to walk down the aisle yet because of the many variants of Covid that have emerged since the pandemic emerged in early 2020.

“We’re still trying to work out destination [and] location,” she revealed. “Every couple of months, there’s a new variant, new variant, new variant.”
